CSA farm fresh! Veggies, Breads, Pies

Week 6 CSA Pickup Wed 7/19, 1-6PM OR Sat 7/22, 9AM-2PM

Hot Week!  Bring water and take breaks as needed if picking.

ON THE TABLE IN FARM SHOP…Eggplant (Sicilian and classic), Peppers (bells and hots), Cabbage, Broccoli, Potatoes (reds), Zucchini (green/yellow), Onion (red/yellow), Cucumbers, Beets, Carrots, Kohlrabi (red/green), Kale, Garlic Scapes, Scallion.  Mix and Match options. WHAT ELSE YOU GOT?!  Not too far off… Tomatoes, Cantaloupe, Watermelons and Garlic!

 

PICK YOUR OWN…

  • Beans – new patch just coming in – green/yellow. 
  • Herbs. In order from field edge/pond – Cilantro, Basil (Italian), Parsley; Along the irrigation line, follow from barn to trees – Oregano, Thyme, Rosemary, Chives; And the next row over – Dill and Basil's (Lemon and Thai). 
  • Flowers – lots of sunflowers and others – 1 nice big bunch of anything!
  • Tomatoes – the crown jewel of the summer – just coming in.  Take a walk through and grab 1 or 2, a taste of what's to come! Please be careful not to knock off green ones ripening!  Look low on plants for the orange Sungolds and a few reds.
  • Blueberries - scarce.  You are welcome to pick, but not much out there.
 

Hammerbacher Provisions… Don’t miss out on Wednesday! Rustic, Hippie, Milk/Butter, Whole wheat (with blueberry honey), Brioche (with raspberry jam), Peach bread, SinBuns, Mini Peach/Blueberry Pies, and Knish (mashed potato/cheddar, and beet/chard/feta/brown rice).  Saturday’s list will be posted to Facebook soon.

LOCAL IN THE FRIDGE/FREEZER…

  • Chicken Sausages – Griggstown Farms, Princeton;
  • Pasta – Red Room Café, Ventnor;
  • Cheeses (Feta, Gouda, Mozzarella) – Fulper Farms, Lambertville;
  • Pickles (lacto fermented and deli types) – Hammerbacher, EHC.
